The new president of Busan Finance Center takes office as of August 7th

The new president of Busan Finance Center takes office as of August 7th to serve as the 2nd president after the Center announced the appointment

 

Mr. Rhee Myongho was appointed as the second president of Busan Finance Center during its general meeting of member institutions last June, and officially inaugurates on August 7th.

 

New President, Mr. Rhee Myongho, a graduate of Seoul National University with a B.A. in Civil Law and Columbia Law School, entered the civil service through the passing of the 33rd Higher Public Service Examination. He has held key positions such as Director of Asset Management Division and Capital Markets Division, and Director-General for Financial & Corporate Restructuring Policy at the Financial Services Commission

 

With his seasoned knowledge in the financial market and expertise in international cooperation, acquired during his tenure as a Minister Counselor at the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in the United Kingdom, he received recognition for strengthening financial cooperation with Southeast Asian countries while serving as the Minister and Consul General at the Korean Embassy in Indonesia.

 

More recently, while serving as the President of Korea Securities Depository, he achieved significant milestones, including the reform of FundNet*, attracting global financial institutions such as Citibank, and successfully hosting the 24th Asia-Pacific Central Securities Depository Group General Meeting (ACG24) in the metropolitan city of Busan.

 

The newly inaugurating president is expected to demonstrate a profound commitment to addressing issues on the regional financial industry, and strengthening competitiveness and driving innovation of the Busan Financial Hub based on his extensive experience and expertise in the financial industry and international cooperation. Through effective communication with both local and central government, as well as member institutions, the new president, Mr. Rhee Myongho will stand ready to foster robust support and cooperation from all relevant entities, pioneering the path for a promising era.
