Mr. Jong Hwa Kim was appointed as the first President of Busan Finance Center on June 16, 2020.
He will serve his new role of attracting international financial institutions and organizations, planning mid-to-long term strategies to vitalize the financial industry and many more, starting July 1, 2020.
Mr. Kim served around 30 years at the Bank of Korea, the central bank of Korea, at various capacities such as the Deputy Governor and Director-General of the International Department. After his tenure at the Bank of Korea, he headed the Korea Financial Telecommunications & Clearings Institute, an institution specialized in payment and settlement system. He also served as the adjunct professor of the college of Economics at Sogang University in Seoul.
His former experiences as the Deputy Governor of the Bank of Korea and the CEO of Korea Financial Telecommunications & Clearings Institute for the last 30 years are expected to pave way for the future of Busan Finance Center and develop Busan as a global financial hub.
