On June 18, 2026, Busan Finance Center (BFC) co-hosted an online webinar with Z/Yen Group under the title “Scaling Up Digital Finance in Busan: Policy and Academia Perspective.”

Z/Yen Group is a London-based think tank founded in 1994 by Michael Mainelli, former Lord Mayor of the City of London. It publishes global financial center-related indices, including the Global Financial Centres Index (GFCI) and the Global Green Finance Index (GGFI).

The webinar featured presentations by Chaehyun Kim, Head of the Department of Digital Finance at Pukyong National University, and Jin Park, Research Fellow at the Economy and Industry Research Department of the Busan Research Institute.

The discussion focused on directions for digital finance transformation by leveraging Busan’s port and maritime industry base, as well as policy directions and implementation tasks for developing Busan as a digital finance hub.
