President Myongho Rhee visited the HJ Shipbuilding & Construction shipyard in Yeongdo, Busan, on Thursday, July 9, 2026.

He met with company executives and employees to hear about challenges facing the shipbuilding industry, discuss possible solutions, and tour the newbuilding facilities.

Later that day, President Rhee attended a meeting with representatives of small and medium-sized shipbuilders at Busan Station. Participants discussed policy measures to address difficulties faced by smaller shipbuilders in obtaining refund guarantees (RGs).
