On March 19th, President Myongho Rhee attended the "15th Anniversary Symposium of the Designation of Busan as a Financial Hub," co-hosted by the Busan Finance Center and the Kookje Daily News, where he delivered the opening remarks. President Rhee highlighted that, in celebration of its 15th anniversary as a maritime and derivatives specialized financial center, Busan has grown into an international financial hub, centered around the Munhyeon Financial Complex, with 38 major financial institutions and 5,000 financial professionals.
The symposium discussed innovative policies to develop Busan into a global financial hub, including the designation of a financial special zone, attracting policy financial institutions, and establishing a digital asset exchange.
President Rhee emphasized that the Busan Finance Center will support the creation of a Busan financial hub through leading research and active promotion both domestically and internationally. He specifically thanked the Lord Mayor Of London at City of London Corporation for his keynote speech at the symposium, noting that the support from the City of London Corporation provided an opportunity to further strengthen Busan's international standing.
